Town & Country Living Shakes Up Design Calendar

New York – Town & Country Living has found its way around the industry’s persisting supply chain hurdles and is showcasing those solutions at New York Home Fashions Market.

“In some categories we are showing holiday products, and in others we are starting to show spring 2023 introductions,” explained Judi Alexander, VP, licensing and marketing. “We are finding this year that because of supply chain disruptions, a lot of retailers are moving up their calendars and making buying decisions much earlier – in some cases, up to a year earlier. So, we’re working earlier, too.”

The company’s “big story” this market is sustainability, she noted, by way of a newly inked licensed partnership with women’s apparel brand Sanctuary. The collection spans rugs and decorative pillows, all made of recycled materials. The offering will expand later this year with additional items, including kitchen textiles, table linens and shower curtains.

Washable rugs, a category Town & Country launched only a year ago, is gaining traction – prompting its expansion this season.

“Washable rugs have really taken off for us since we added them, and we have placement for them with just about every retail for our Everwash brand as well as for private label programs,” Alexander said.

Washable rugs, along with kitchen mats and table linens, are being added to the gourmet cooking enthusiast-focused Sur La Table program.

Also new to the flooring category are area rug additions to several branded programs. These include: handmade rugs for the Tommy Bahama line; and indoor/outdoor styles for the Lillian August, Nicole Miller, Christian Siriano, Elle Décor and Tahari programs.

“Tahari has been especially strong for us, and so we are also expanding that line with rug pads and rug grippers,” Alexander noted.

Outdoor living continues to be front and center on customers’ shopping lists, and Town & Country is giving them fresh decorative pillows and cushions. Branded programs include Tommy Bahama, Lauren, Martha Stewart and Christian Siriano.

For indoor décor, new decorative pillows from the company’s house line span holiday looks for harvest and Christmas as well as Valentine’s Day plus fresh designs for the Lillian August, Rachel Roy, Elle Decor and Nicole Miller brands.

Additionally, the window treatments mix is updating with a new batch of unique trims, including lace edges and pearl trims, along with new jacquards and novelty velvets for Christian Siriano, Elle Décor and Lilian August.

Kitchen textiles and table linens at Town & Country’s core, these categories are expanding with an array of styles for various brands:

  • Fiesta, with new perennial patterns for indoor/outdoor use plus new holiday prints;

  • Martha Stewart, with new Halloween, harvest and holiday styles;

  • Tommy Bahama, with new year-round tropical and textural looks;

  • KitchenAid, “a powerhouse brand for us at brick-and-mortar retailers as well as in e-commerce,” with 20+ new solid colors and a wide assortment of prints and woven chambray looks.

Shower curtains is another area of growth for the company. Town & Country is offering new prints, yarn dyes, tufted and embellished constructions launching for Nicole Miller, Lauren and Lillian August.

And finally, the pet bed segment is turning the couture corner with stylish additions to the Lauren, Elle Decor, Nicole Miller and Christian Siriano brands.

Town & Country Living is offering in-person and virtual tours from its New York showroom at 261 Fifth Ave., 2nd floor.
